Miniature 7 1/2 All Bisque Doll French Wrestler marked #102 With Accessories

I believe this to be a very fine replica of Kester's miniature doll known as the "French Wrestler, " in reference to her muscular body. Marked on the back of the head--in hand'Carla 03. And the incised mold mark'102.

This is a gorgeous doll, sculpted of lovely pale bisque with superb painting overall, standing 7 1/2 inches tall in her boots. The blushed body has very fine detailing, the sculpting includes dimples on the small of her back and bottom, and on her knees and elbows. Swivel head, with a soft curly blonde mohair wig.

Sweet bisque face with raven's wing brows over dark brown glass eyes with black irises, dark eyeliner, and beautifully feathered upper and lower lashes. Accent marks at the inner eyes and nostrils, with beautifully blushed cheeks, and dainty parted lips, showing two square cut teeth.

Plump bisque torso, kid-edged jointed shoulders and hips. The elbows are bent, and the fingers are cupped. She has muscular "wrestler" thighs and calves with tiny ankles. Wearing painted blue-topped white ribbed stockings, and dainty ocher yellow and black laced boots.

Her costume is of couturier quality, I believe almost all of it is is hand stitched. Her mauve-pink dress has hand sewn pin-tucks and the bodice is pleated, with gorgeous lace trim. Lined, all made with exquisite detail, topped with elaborate matching lace trimmed bonnet.

Her chemise and pantalettes are also very well made. Over left upper lashes, small spot, on the lower part of her neck on front and back in exactly the same spot there are two tiny indentations, which are marks from her mold, they were purposeful, and may only be seen when the head is tilted well forward or back.

No hairlines, flakes chips or rough spots, no peppering, or other damage, and she's been cabinet-kept in a non-smoking home.
